Strengths: Some of the strengths that Austintown's social services and welfare programs have are the amount of different programs offered ranging from food support to work support to child support. Also the different programs apply to citizens of all ages ranging from infants to preschoolers to schoolage/teenagers to adults. Some of the programs that are offered are specifically geared toward veterans which is a great resource to have since there are so many veteran that are homeless.
Weaknesses: Some weaknesses of Austintown's social services and welfare programs are the small amount of services offered in Austintown itself, mostly all of the services are offered in Youngstown. Most of the programs are county wide and not for Austintown's citizens only. Austintown is a large city and adding more social services to it specifically would be a great idea for the future. Also, there are only two voluntary service groups that provide services, having a couple more voluntary services would contribute greatly to Austintown and the community.
